At a press conference Tuesday, President Drew Matonak announced a $100,000 gift from TV celebrity and animal rights advocate Bob Barker to create the Bob Barker Animal Advocacy Fund. The fund will support the college’s new Animal Advocacy certificate program.
Media coverage of the event follows Val’s remarks.
I am proud to be a part of HVCC as it continues to lead the way in so many vital, 21st century fields of study.
We truly are the first community college in the U.S. to establish an animal advocacy degree program. The courses are practical, necessary and will lead to gainful employment, meaningful work and contributions to society.
Thank you Dr. Geisendorfer for recognizing this, and moving forward. Thank you Drew, and all of you, who supported this initiative, particularly the New York State Humane Association whose officers served as advisors throughout.
Val
